About Loving a Bridge
Can you hear it?
Swish. The fishing rod sings as Erik Hovedskou casts his lure out over the fjord. If he is lucky, a garfish will soon be splashing on the surface.
When Erik stands by the Oddesund Bridge with his fishing rod, he is exactly where he wants to be most in the world. It is best of all if the sun is only just slowly rising, or if it is about to set. He lives 10 minutes from the bridge and spends more time here than in his own backyard.
Erik clearly remembers the first time he drove across the Oddesund Bridge. He was living in Holstebro at the time and was on his way to Agger to go fishing with his father. Back then, you were allowed to stand directly on the bridge to fish, and Erik never forgot that sight. When the time came to buy his own house, he knew he had to live near Grisetå Odde.
Sometimes Erik brings his portable grill up to the bridge, and sometimes his best friend and fishing buddy joins him. Then they grill sausages or heat up soup while looking out over the water, discussing life's small and big questions.
To Erik, the Oddesund Bridge doesn't just symbolize magnificent experiences in nature and fish on the hook. It is also a place for companionship and reflection.
