Reproducing Sound Exactly as It Was Intended

Can you hear it?

The applause and the audience's rhythmic chanting of "one-more-time!" That is the sound of a community where young people make things happen.

23-year-old Lucas Rejkjær was actually just tagging along with a friend the first time he visited "Kælderen" (The Basement), but before he knew it, he had become a volunteer. Two and a half years later, he was also the chairman.

At Kælderen, initiative is rewarded, and the group of volunteers decides for themselves how they want to use their space. If you love music, you can book a band. If you are more into quizzes, comedy, or poetry slams, you can just organize a night for that. Or you can host a vinyl night, where everyone can bring their own records and try their hand at being a DJ.

There is almost never an admission fee, and the prices at the bar are manageable, even on a student grant while living at home. Because everyone should be able to visit Kælderen, and it is a place where you quickly make new friends, Lucas explains. If you want to do something fun, you are never alone at Kælderen.
